Maya 152 – Intermediate Maya Texture Baking for Second Life

Cost: 32400 L for the 3 class sequence

Description: This 3 session course sequence we will delve deeper into the process of texture baking. We will explore the creation of complex shaders in maya, advanced lighting setups and global illumination with the goal of producing more realistic results.

Session 1: Complex Shader components, making normal, spec, occlusion maps, using crazy bump, introduction to the turtle renderer.

Session 2: Ambient Occlusion, Final Gather, Lighting via Incandescence, masking using occlusion data

Session 3: Lighting via. HDRI images, generating convincing reflections, glossy materials

Skill/Course Prerequisites (Recommended): Maya 102 or facility with sculpt modelling, baking in maya

Software/Hardware Requirements: Maya 2009/2010, Turtle 5.0.0.5, Crazy Bump, Adobe Photoshop, Headset with Mic *NOTE* This is a Windows only course sequence
