Maya 101 – This 3 session course sequence is an introduction to the 3d modelling application Autodesk Maya for use with Second Life. Designed to get the student up and running quickly, we will explore the relevant features of Maya for creating and exporting sculpt prims. Several hours of homework will be assigned between sessions.
Maya 102 – This 3 session course sequence is an introduction to the texturing pipeline for using Autodesk Maya with Second Life. We will cover a broad number of topics such as lighting, materials, texture baking, projections and shader components. Several hours of homework will be assigned between sessions.
Maya 151 - This 3 session course sequence is a technique focus designed to delve deeper into 3d modelling with Maya for use with Second Life. We will be covering some of the more challenging forms to approach with sculpts, namely cloth and other naturalistic forms. This course sequence is designed with the clothing and interior designer in mind.
Maya 152 – This 3 session course sequence we will delve deeper into the process of texture baking. We will explore the creation of complex shaders in maya, advanced lighting setups and global illumination and HDR lighting with the goal of producing more realistic results.
